About the Artist
"I look for a passion, a soulful quality a lust for life. I want to project that soulful quality, and bring that out in my paintings." Garry Limuti does just that with his facile use of light. Garry's artistic strength lies in his ability to fuse his remarkable technical and natural painting skills. This gives way to allowing the heart and soul of his subject to shine through, showing how he masterfully captures the translucence of light. The "under-painting" technique that Garry uses presents his subjects as if they are lit from within. It's for this reason that he prefers oils. "I work in layers, and love the translucent quality of oils; I also quite enjoy graphite as a medium. I want to be able to satisfy that creative need to create something beautiful and unique, and sports are a relevant arena to portray that." Among his many credits of note, Garry has created murals for the Ashland, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve in Utah and has worked with major movie studios creating epic scenic art. A painter, musician, and father, Garry currently lives and creates in Northern California.
